Hermine: I have always loved the Drakensberg Mountains. So many of my paintings are inspired by them. My painting here reflects another fascinating facet of the ‘Berg: The astounding number of San (Bushman) paintings there, some more than 3000 years old.

If its winter, it must be fire break burning season — On most grass land (veld) farms, there is the annual task of burning firebreaks to minimise the damaged caused by runaway fires.
